Joseph Pulitzer was an American newspaper editor and publisher who helped establish the pattern of the modern newspaper.
In his time he was one of the most powerful journalists in the United States, and he’s best known for giving his name to the prestigious Pulitzer prize.
His quote: “Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it, and above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light” is true not just of writing for newspapers, but for all forms of writing.
