Well, it’s 2013 and we’re back to work with a vengeance. January is, of course, a time for resolutions, so we thought we ought to make some for Rough House.
The company is now into our 15th year – which is pretty amazing – and though we are continuing to combine media training courses, consultancy and production, the company is pretty different to the one which we set up back in 1998.
For a start, we offer a far wider range of training courses than when we started: media relations, press release writing, presentation and communication skills, as well as the media training courses which we started off offering.
And our training courses have continually evolved so they are more flexible and more responsive to our clients needs, whether that be to prepare a team to be specialist spokespeople and thought-leaders, to rehearse a chief executive for a major interview, or improve how an entire press team of press respond to journalists’ calls.
And we’re also providing far more consultative, PR and crisis communication related services than we used to, and this is something we plan to build on throughout 2013.
Which brings us back to the resolutions for. Here goes:
1) To become the first port of call for any PR and communications professional working in the not-for-profit, charitable and public sector when they need support in their media relations
2) To continue to innovate, expand and, of course, improve the range of our training courses, making sure that they meet all our clients needs
3) To increase the amount of video production we provide for our clients – because we love it, and we think we’re rather good at it! So, if you’re considering either a videos or podcast for your business in 2013, let us know
4) And finally, to provide, as ever, the best possible service to our clients and respond to their needs, providing them with support and guidance in all their media relations
So there we are. We’ll be reviewing these at regular intervals – and may well be adding to them!
What are yours?
