When many people think about being interviewed by a journalist, they imagine John Humphries, or the new-style Newsnight with Evan Davies.
But the likelihood of anyone appearing on either of those programmes is minimal – most encounters with journalists are far more mundane and far less intimidating.
They are much more likely to a chat on your stand at a conference or a trade show, a quick comment to the local paper about a new campaign or an event you are running, or in relation to a piece you are authoring in a trade magazine.
My most recent interviews were both about the Leveson inquiry – a quick soundbite for Al Jazeera America and a half hour discussion on Talk Radio Europe.
But that’s me. What about you? We’re keen to hear about what happened when you met a journalist.
Did they interview you? Why? Were they accurate? Did they misquote you? Did you say what you wanted and get your message out?
So, do get in touch and spill the beans. We want to hear your stories.
