Crisis quotation

John F Kennedy quotation on crisis communications

I was really struck by this quotation by John F Kennedy, which I came across recently, and felt I had to share it:

“When written Chinese, the word is composed of two characters. One represents danger and the other represents opportunity.”

This is so true: if you handle an emergency or crisis well, it can enhance your reputation; if you handle one badly, it can be very dangerous – your reputation may be permanently damaged.
