Not many people outside the dog world are aware of an awful trade, which causes untold misery for its victims, and can make a fortune for those practising it.
It’s the ‘farming’ of puppies by rogue breeders – they often breed 100s of animals each year without any regard for their welfare.
We have just produced a film to highlight the issue for the Kennel Club, Stop the Suffering, Stop Puppy Farming, which was narrated by prominent puppy farming campaigner and vet, Marc Abraham. We can only hope it will do something to help stamp it out.
