Recently, I gave a speech Media Skills for Conservators at the annual conference of the Institute of Conservation.
The aim was to get conservators and restorers to think about the importance of media skills – why they might be valuable for them and the skills it might be useful to might develop.
In a packed hour, the delegates brainstormed some brilliant ideas to pitch to the media, and also had a go at filming an interview and a sequence on their smartphone.
During 2019, we’re hoping to run some more in depth workshops with ICON; in the meantime, here is a copy of the presentation that I gave:
